We do it because we can, for those who can't
Each year a dedicated group of volunteers run surf-related events to raise much-needed funds for severely disabled local children and their families.
The families we help have usually fallen through the cracks of Government support, are doing it extremely tough financially and have children with needs those of us with healthy kids could hardly fathom.
Since 2005, The Board Meeting has raised in excess of $600,000 for these local families, proving that surfers have big hearts when it comes to helping out those in the community.
But there are always more families we can help.
The main event
The main event are corporate surf comps (which started in 2005), with the Sunshine Coast event run in November (in 2016, it will be on Friday/Saturday 11/12 November) and in Byron Bay in March (we've just held it for 2016 - many thanks to those who participated). These events draw on the enthusiasm and generosity of the Surfing and Business communities to participate in an amateur surfing competition where the emphasis is on fun.
Entry is open to all surfers - young, old, amateur, pro, male, female.
You can participate in a number of ways -
•Get some mates together and enter your team of surfers,
•Sponsor a team under your business name and we will arrange for a team for you, and/or
•Make a donation of cash or an item we can auction in the charity auction we hold after the comp.

•Join the "Guardian" program,
•Simply make a cash donation, and/or
•Look out for one of our other fundraising drives that we do from time to time.
